The main problem faced by most of the ad posters in Craigslist is, their post is being ghosted. But why? I am here to discuss about some important matters about how you can save your post from being ghosted.
First what is a ghosted ad? If any ad is marked by Craigslist's spam filter then it is dropped from the listing page. But the poster will not be notified about the incident. Even when the poster checks for his/her URL he will find the ad is live but unfortunately it's not on the site. And that matter is known as "ghosting". OK then lets talk about some points about posting shall we.
Unique post: First of all always try to be unique and try to change the way you think with your ads every time and do not use duplicate ones to give away your works.
IP Policy: According to Craigslist's Terms and Policy the ads posted by this particular IP will only be allowed to post once in one section one city! If they detect this IP again within certain amount of the time, this ad will be ghosted! So have patience if you are using the same one.
Email factor: Same email can be used but allowed after 48 hours! If it is used again within the specified time the post will be ghosted definitely!
About Title and Contents: Craigslist has software to automatically cross match the contents to check all ads are unique or not! If it detects something wrong with that, either it will generate an error or will be ghosted!
But how do I know my ad post is a ghosted one or will not be published?
I will let you know about the secret! I have seen some guys talking about this in to several sites. But for you I am telling it once again. After successfully published you need not to wait for 15 minutes to check your post will be displayed or not. Just simply click View>Source from your browser menu and open source! You will now see an HTML scripts of your ad! If you can find a paragraph called "...", it means your ads will show up on main section no matter what but if this sentence is not there, then don't bother waiting cause its in the garbage can!
